‘PROBio-Africa fellowships program‘, offers the opportunity for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows from Africa to spend one to six months in the laboratory of a scientist in a FEBS country affiliated to a FEBS constituent company. The application process requires a letter of recommendation from the supervisor, an invitation letter and all expenses will be covered by PROBio-Africa.

The 2024 call for PROBio-Africa Fellowships, which offer support for research stays of PhD students and postdocs from Africa in a lab in a FEBS country, will run from 1 March to 1 May 2024. 

IUBMB-FEBS-FASBMB PROBio-Africa (Promoting Research Opportunities for Biochemists in Africa) is a joint venture between FEBS, the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and the Federation of African Societies of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (FASBMB). The PROBio-Africa Fellowships Programme enables PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from Africa to spend up to six months in the laboratory of a scientist in a FEBS country who belongs to a FEBS Constituent Society. In that way the awardees will get access to technologies and expertise that may not be readily available in their home countries, allowing them to grow their knowhow and skills, and contribute to building capacity in the molecular life sciences at home.
