PROTEINS AND LIPIDS IN NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES.
Insights from in vivo and in vitro models

Neurodegenerative diseases often cause unexpected and psychologically devastating effects. Early diagnosis, treatment, and cure for these pathologies are frequently lacking or significantly delayed. A central goal of healthy aging research is preserving normal brain function, recognizing the crucial role of maintaining cognitive abilities for overall well-being.  Investigating proteomic, lipidomic, metabolomic, and epigenetic modifications induced by neurodegenerative diseases in both in vitro and in vivo models can offer new insights into disease onset mechanisms and inform the development of lifestyle parameters to counteract neurodegeneration.

The PROLYON 2025 Workshop, a collaborative project between Sapienza University of Rome, University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and the Institute of Analytical Sciences, aims to connect international researchers and experts in various fields to discuss the latest findings on protein misfolding and aggregation, omics studies, epigenetics and nutrigenomics in neurodegenerative diseases.
